Below are a few Sample Exercises

Pronated Handgrip
This exercise improves the grip strength of both the arm and hand muscles. It exercises the palmaris longus muscle, flexor carpi ulnaris and flexor carpi radialis muscle, the superficial and deep finger flexor muscles, and the flexor pollocis longus. You will work all of the flexor chain.

Supinated Handgrip
This exercise improves the grip strength of arm and finger muscles. It also trains the entire flexor arm and forearm chain. Performing this exercise will increase the gross motor strength of the flexor carpi and radial ulnaris, the common flexor superficial and profundus digitorum and the supinator muscle.

Opposition
Put the index, middle and ring fingers together, and place the Hanygym between them and the thumb. Apply pressure to aid in increasing the pinch strength of the flexor pollicis brevis, the flexor pollicis longus and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd lumbricales.

Light Touch
This movement improves the light touch involving the muscles that take part in adduction, abduction and rotation of the fingers. Lumbrical muscles, palmar and dorsal interosseous muscles and flexor digitorum. It is a movement that encourages accuracy. To improve proprioception, do it with eyes closed.

Pinch Grip
Join the index, middle and ring fingers, and place the Handgym between them and the thumb. Apply pressure to aid in increasing the pinch strength of the flexor pollicis brevis, the flexor pollicis longus and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd lumbricales.

Finger Adduction
Adduction exercises with Handgym will assist in strengthening the muscles of the hand and wrist , including the extensor carpi radials brevis and longus and the extensor carpi ulnaris. Those exercises will also help to improve the “light touch“ of fingers, exercising lumbricals muscles and palmar and dorsal interoseous muscles as well.

Metacarpophalangeal Flexion
Performing finger bending with Handgym you will work the superficial and deep flexor muscles of the fingers. You will flex the proximal phalanx through the lumbrical and interosseous muscles working. In the little finger flexion you will exercise the brevis flexor muscle of thelittle finger. The exercise will also improve the fingers “light touch”.
